The Soul Has No Colour

The issue of racism or to be more honest 'the love for multicultural people living together' has not been more touching my heart than usual. Church is a great place where people are treated as God's kids, the appreciated and valued part of the body of Christ.

Sunday Was A Historically Defining Moment

Pat Schazline spoke about the place called 'Paradise'. The atmosphere was explosive. We brought a new friend to church (Carina) and I had time to post all the messages, 'thank you's and read my mail.

Post [22 Sept 2007]

I'm overwhelmed by the wishes, greetings, "Happy Belated Birthday" wishes, prayers, dinners and gifts. I'm very humbled that people will take time and make the effort to wish me. You friends are gold.

How did I spend my birthday?
Alice, Siyan, Kwan Chian, Priscilla, Kah Wei, Yu Yee, Samantha, Vincent, Jojo, Hau Wei, Adrian and I headed to Flemington for the Royal Melbourne Show! There were exciting rides, a guy riding a bull, chicks hatching, pig racing (no kidding), food, pig diving (really not kidding) and a beautiful atmosphere. I really enjoyed it.

We then wished a good trip to Priscilla and Siyan at Southern Cross Station (Priscilla was heading to Perth for the week to be with her family. Siyan was accampanying her to the airport). "Adios and have a great week."

Lazer Wars in Box Hill was our next stop. The guys (Raymond, Jinn, Robin, Moses, another guy) and Jennifer joined us for a very electrifying and competitive, fun game. We then went to No. 1 Cafe where they had really great, interesting dishes and Raymond presented a home-baked sticky-date cake for Samantha and I(we share the same birthday). It was a delicious with lots of flavours. Raymond presented me with a present (the book entitled 'Right Place, Right Poeple, Right Time -discerning the voice of God in your life' by Ps. Jentezen Franklin). I was blown away. The content of the book cannot be more timely. Ray, you're awesome, a great friend and golden. I really appreciate everyone treating me for the dinner too. 'A huge "Thank You"'! : )

Thanks for the greetings (Jono, Hau Wei, Adrian, Lydia, Esther, Jane, Valerie, Jocelyn, Abby, Iris, Pris, Siyan, Alice, Jinn, Moses, Robin, the people from PlanetUni and Ocf). Thanks for the birthday sms-es (Jocelyn and Calvin). Calls from Dad, Mum and Ko (my lovely fmaily). Lots of message posts by lots of friends on Friendster and Facebook and to God, for providing great friends in my life and for giving me everything that I need. All glory to God! Praise God! Praise Him! = )

The Post That Has Been Longing to Be Uploaded

(Sept 21)
A huge big thank you for all the people, prayers and excellent servants for the explosive night, "What Is" PlanetUni. For Pastor Matt's inspirational vision and God's amazing, electrifying presence. It was a historical night that I'm still talking about and soaking in.

When God Thinks of Gifts - He Thinks of People

I'd like to thank God for people in my life. For friends who take the effort to make you feel special. For parents who look out for my well being. Also for new friends,
the opportunity to love you.

Joke of the Day - Golf

(from the-jokes.com)

"How was your game, dear?" asked Jack's wife Tracy.

"Well, I was hitting pretty well, but my eyesight's gotten so bad I couldn't see where the ball went," he answered.

"But you're 75 years old, Jack!" admonished his wife, "Why don't you take my brother Scott along?"

"But he's 85 and doesn't play golf anymore," protested Jack.

"But he's got perfect eyesight. He would watch the ball for you," Tracy pointed out.

The next day Jack teed off with Scott looking on. Jack swung and the ball disappeared down the middle of the fairway.

"Do you see it?" asked Jack.

"Yup," Scott answered.

"Well, where is it?" yelled Jack, peering off into the distance.

"I forgot."

Praising God

Today I was a bit down on the fact that there were some unnecessary tackles in yesterday's soccer game. But during worship the Holy Spirit reminded me to gain perspective, "Hey, you got 34 people playing football yesterday and you were scoring like 8 goals. You should celebrate that." Yeah. Praise God.

Sunday...

Wow... we had an interesting touch footie game today.

Wayne cooked for me and few others spaghetti bolognaise for lunch tomorrow. Thanks, Wayne. I feel the love. You're an awesome champ.

Got my eyes tested again for the spectacle shop to redo my glasses.

Church was at Melbourne Town Hall. I love the architecture, wall paintings, ceilings and the big organ behind. Ps. Henry and the rest looked extremely cool as usual. And we got over 19 people coming from our Urban Life today plus visitors. Yaay!

Dinner was great at Pacific House. We then adjourned to a place for pancakes. Very cool.

I'll be preparing for choir practice tomorrow night for 'What Is'. Sept 21 (333 Swanston Street).

God, thanks for today, sports, friends and lovely food. In the name of Jesus, Amen. = )

Facebook and Friendster Adds

Wow, the overwhelming number of adds as a friend. I really appreciate the adds and friend requests. As Ps. Bobbie Houston says, "We never take lightly the people who would take the time to share and be part of our world". Thanks all and appreciate it.

Kingdom Purpose

Today we learnt that until we find our purpose (why God made us), we won't be fulfilled.

Here's how to find our purpose:
#1. Seek God
#2. Use our gifts
#3. Do something. Do more.
#4. Wait for God to open doors. Ask, then seek, then knock.
#5. Don't get knocked around by the world's expectation:
a) married by when
b) kids by when
... believing lies like fame and money will make you fulfilled. Or looking for the 'big break'.

Actually, keep #6. Obeying God, Using what you have and diligently using your gift, waiting for God's timing for stuff like marriage or children. Recognizing that the whole body is not an eye or a foot and everyone is unique and has God's plan for their life.

Warning: Don't try to live God's plan for other people's life. Live in yours.
Don't compare your calling with someone else's. If God calls you to usher. He will judge you based on your ushering, not preaching.

#7. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Take risks, live on the edge and obey.

Joke. Got This From Ray's blog.

Lately, some colleagues in the office has been circulating very random emails, most of them contain jokes... Actually, 2 cent jokes to be precise. Like this one:

Sid and Al are Jews and were sitting in a Chinese restaurant. "Sid," asked Al, "Are there any Jews in China?" "I don't know," Sid replied. "Why don't we ask the waiter?"

When the waiter came by, Al asked him, "Are there any Chinese Jews?" "I don't know sir, let me ask," the waiter replied, and he went into the kitchen. He returned in a few minutes and said, "No, sir. No Chinese Jews."

"Are you sure?" Al asked. "I will check again, sir." the waiter replied and went back to the kitchen. While he was still gone, Sid said, "I cannot believe there are no Jews in China, our people are scattered everywhere."

When the waiter returned he said, "Sir, no Chinese Jews."

Are you really sure?" Al asked again. "I cannot believe there are no Chinese Jews." "Sir, I asked everyone," the waiter replied exasperated. "We have orange Jews, prune Jews, tomato Jews and grape Jews, but no one ever heard of Chinese Jews! ! If you want, we have Chinese Tea.

O_o

-_-

.... *crows flies past screen* ....

So, yeah.... 2 cent jokes. I've heard a couple of them lately, like this one, from Hannah, one of my church friends, who actually heard it from her fiancee:

Which part of your body is the most truthful place?

...

Hips.

Why?

'Cause Hips Don't Lie.

- Hilarious.

Thought of the Day

Matthew 18:24:

21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" 22Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[f]

If I have to forgive my brother 77 times a day. That's 28105 times a year. That's enough forgiveness to keep my heart clean and heal the wound.

Use Words to Build

Today I learnt the power of words and speaking God's word. Also to avoid gossip and negativity.

Men's discipleship was super. I'm so glad to have Ps. Matt as my pastor.

Church was awesome. It's great catching up with the guys, Hau Wei, Jon Raj, Billy and the boys.

Oh, the Korean food we had for dinner was awesome.

Post for 8 Sept 07

Today was pretty amazing.

There was the great surprise celebration for Uncle Robert's 25 years of serving Jesus. A powerpoint show showing his days in Labuan and in Melbourne with Auntie Ruth. It taught me that servanthood requires longevity and willingness. Plus behind every great man is a praying wife who is an amazing support. Teamwork. Man, that spurred me to live years loving Jesus and loving people.

Dinner before movies was good. Vincent cooked a spectacular meal. Kudos to him.

I also went for a checkup for the contact lenses that I'm trying. Will try for one more week before I decide to order them.

For those who are reading this, OPSM (spectacle shop) double charged my credit card for $510 I spent to fix my glasses. I sent a message to NAB. Will definitely be getting to the bottom of this. People with credit cards, be careful.

Praise God 38 people turned up for soccer today. 35 people played. = ) How awesome. Lots of Planetshakers people and new people too. It was awesome.

Have a Backup Plan In Case Someone Pulls Out

If I'm organizing an event. Make sure I have invited enough people just in case some people pull out. It can happen.

When running an organization, make sure more than one person can do a task. So that in case someone resigns, gets sick or quits, someone else is capable and ready to take the load.

What I've Learnt from "True Relationships Panel"

1. Always praise your future father and mother-in-law. Saying they are 'godly, mighty, anointed men of God'. = )
2. Get covering, parents, mentors, pastors friends who all share the same spirit about your relationship. Covering gives protection. Especially when the question is 'is this the one?'
3. Let off the pressure. Be friends. Do not gossip and let the pressure off staff members of the church to make friends before being scrutinized.
4. Purity is in the heart, spirit and body. You can be an adulteror in your heart while not committing sex outside. Treat ladies like sisters and younger men like brothers. Guard each other's purity.
5. Cannot call after 9:30pm? Just be realistic and act with wisdom.
6. Go out for movies, coffee, hip-hop aerobics, sports groups.
7. Don't put pressure and think you'll know the person you'll spend the rest of your life with in the first 2 minutes.
8. Mike Webber: fasted for 3 months. prayed for 3 weeks. To let God remove the things in his heart from hearing from God clearly.
9. Timing, when you say 'you're the one'. The person might not be ready.
10. 'Unequally yoked' means: you're not going in the same direction. either is not Christian. spritual level different.
11. You need to know God spoke to your heart that that person is the one when years go by and feelings go.
12. Don't discuss feelings or evoke them too early in the relationship. Just have fun and enjoy each other's company.
13. Respect and learn from men and women of God who model relationships that you want to build.

If You Fail to Learn From Today's Lessons....

you're bound to repeat them tomorrow.

"when you fall down, pick something up." (learn from it)

There Are Not Many Days Better Than This One.

How awesome God is! Today we had a phenomenal discipleship followed by an amazing album recording at church (www.planetshakers.com). The presence and anointing of God was so strong during the worship (i could smell the fragrance of the presence of God on Saturday night). It was totally amazing. I'm in love with my God, my church, my family and life. : )

Dear God

Help me to survive in a work place where mistakes are not tolerated.
To people who do not celebrate your success.
Keep me pure, walking in honesty,
And let excellence be my worship to you.
